Small rant about Nintendo's annual loss and other things.

I'd like to talk about Nintendo's annual loss today and the reaction to it that I have been hearing around the net.

I was going to put this up when I had some emotions going on the other day, but I figured it would just be best to wait out the storm a little bit.

After some reflection on it and some of the responses that I saw, I think I was just seeing the typical behavior from certain people and in some cases some people reverting back to old behavior on some forums. Surprisingly, I really only found negativity on two places while checking on many of the usual forums and sites.
Which I suppose is pretty good for the gaming community.

As for my own feelings on Nintendo's loss, I think that they will recover as they always do.  They do have lots of money in its war chest and they know how to make hardware that doesn't sell at a loss. So, they will be fine.

I also saw a great article over at Pietriots about Xenoblade and an article and you should go over there and check it out as well.  My thoughts on that article are that they do make a lot of great points. The Game Informer guy does just build you up to knock you down. Grubbdog does a great job of countering them.

Site chat is going to be later today at 8pm EST

I am going to be busy here today and I am not sure when I will be in for the chat. I could be on time or I could be a little late but don't let that stop you from chatting it up tonight at 8pm EST.  I was informed of something last night and I wasn't given a definite answer on when it is going to be done today. So don't wait for me to show up.

I guess the big news in the past few days was that Nintendo announced that they will be having their E3 press conference on Tuesday June 5 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. PDT at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. There is also a Midnight Purple 3DS announced to be coming out on May 20th for $169.99.

So yeah see you in the chat most likely sooner or maybe later then usual when it happens at 8pm EST tonight.

Dragon Quest X might have enhancements for the Wii U console

In a shareholders meeting today Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada was asked about the possiblity of Dragon Quest X coming to the Wii U.Wada answered that they are looking into the technical aspects of the Wii U and if it would be possible for Wii disks to have some enhancements when used on the Wii U itself.

Basically Square Enix is looking into the Wii U hardware and seeing if they can make the Wii version work with the Wii U console without having to make a Wii U version.

What is in a name?

Well, with the weekend upon us we can take some time to reflect on E3 from a few days ago. I am going to be talking about the name that the next Nintendo console has been given by Nintendo. Wii U. First thought that comes to mind is that it is a Wii for you. Meaning that it is truly for everyone. Now, personally the name of a system doesn't really matter to me. The games a system has will matter to me.

Now I have read that some people have issues with the name and that the name isn't that good to put it mildly. Are you among those people or are you like me and the name isn't an issue?

Reminder: Live Coverage of Nintendo At E3

This is just a small reminder, (which I’m sure most of you are already aware of) but Nintendo’s E3 media presentation will offered once again this year, live and online, June 7th at 9 a.m. PDT.

This is a great way to watch if you’re going to be out and about around that time, or are just unable to watch on your own TV set.

Link is below if you're one of those people. It's a pretty neat way to experience E3 for those of you looking for something new.

New Pandora's Tower trailer and details

- game features thirteen towers
- two primary attacks: chain and sub weapons
- aim the Wiimote at the screen and your pointer will turn red when you can interact with something via your chain
- when you grab/tug on something, a yellow gauge builds u
- the higher the gauge, the stronger the attack power
- chain can be powered-up by defeating bosses as well
- equip one sub-weapon at a time
- use the chain and sub-weapons together
- sub-weapons are used via button presses
- start the game off with just a sword, but gain a dual sword later on
- gain materials to strengthen your sub-weapons

It looks pretty fun. The mix of chains and sub weapons should make a fun battle system.

Happy 25th Birthday Super Mario Bros!

Today back in 1985 the first Super Mario Bros game was released on the Famicom;short for Family Computer. Since the release of the Super Mario Bros it has become a beloved character and a source of enjoyment for many people.

Here are some of my memories of Mario.

I remember playing Super Mario Bros and it was quite enjoyable.I had never seen this type of world before. It seemed like the flow of imagination from Shiguru Miyamoto was working on overdrive.

Back in the 80s to early 90's you could not go anywhere with out seeing something about the Mario Bros it was a thing to behold.I remember seeing The Wizard and to see the final game was Super Mario Bros 3 well it was to much for me.I was overjoyed.

Another memory I have is playing with my nephew in Super Mario Kart. It was enjoyable seeing him play. We would take turns playing the time trial and trying to beat each others scores. I also recall playing Mario Kart:Double Dash and having fun with the 2 racer system. I usually drove and I was okay with that.

We also played New Super mario Bros Wii when it came out.Very fun to play that.

In commemoration of the 25th Birthday of the Mario Bros is releasing a Super Mario Bros collection for the Wii.
It has the first 3 Super Mario Bros games and as well as the lost levels game.In addition to that there is going to be a Music CD encompasing music from all of the Mario games from SMB to Galaxy 2.Also there is going to be a book I think of all kinds of things about the Super Mario Bros. At this time the collection is only for Japan and is a limited release.
I'm going to guess that Nintendo will have this for the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros in the USA.
So any memories of Mario or maybe something you might want to tell us that not many people might know about Mario.

Let me know.:)
