We all know Nintendo don't think as conventionally as the rest of us, so it wouldn't surprise me if their thought process for the games was "How can we increase the sales for these games that performed below our expectations?" as opposed to "How can we sell more Wii systems?"

The latest Mario sports game is Mario Sports Mix back in February of this year so maybe that's what you were thinking of?Mop_it_uphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00077806857605269079noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7756333000723546217.post-45030701106011446762011-05-09T02:51:38.766-04:002011-05-09T02:51:38.766-04:00I'm sure Galaxy is selling better than Slugger...I'm sure Galaxy is selling better than Sluggers currently. However a line like this is less about trying to squeeze every last penny out of old games and more about generating software sales in the midst of sluggish sales and providing further incentive for new adopters and potential adopters via the price cut and new bundle.

I'd like to think a $20 Galaxy would better achieve that goal than a $20 Sluggers as Galaxy can be considered a AAA game that's a steal at $20...a view many may not hold for an aging sports game.

As for Sluggers being that old I guess it just seemed a lot newer than it is. Looking at the release dates for Mario sports games I can't even see what game I could have been confusing it with.

Also yeah, I highly doubt we'll see Prime Trilogy on this line but a guy can dream right.EVnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7756333000723546217.post-82197898017258078932011-05-08T20:04:38.239-04:002011-05-08T20:04:38.239-04:00EV: Animal Crossing is newer than Mario Super Slug...EV: Animal Crossing is newer than Mario Super Sluggers so I'm not sure why you'd think it's an odd choice but not AC. My guess is, they chose Sluggers because the baseball season started and is just getting into full swing.

I'm guessing current sales had something to do with it too. Super Mario Galaxy is likely still selling better than Mario Super Sluggers at $50, so why not give the sales boost to the slower seller?

I think we'll see some more games added to the line at some point, the only question is when. And I guess also, which games? I noticed the four that they chose are games that are still in production, so I'm not sure if they will choose something that's out of print like Metroid Prime Trilogy.Mop_it_uphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00077806857605269079noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7756333000723546217.post-84768911370666414932011-05-06T06:46:41.198-04:002011-05-06T06:46:41.198-04:00The choices seem a bit odd to me, hopefully they e...The choices seem a bit odd to me, hopefully they expand the line soon to include some other obvious choices.

I can see Animal Crossing and Zelda, they're perfect fits. It's the other two that seem odd.

I mean, I know they have to make Wii Sports available if they're cutting it out of the bundle but $20 seems pretty steep considering that's what it would have retailed at to begin with if it wasn't a pack in...so where's the price cut?

Then there's Sluggers...that isn't even that old. Seems like Mario Galaxy would have made a lot more sense and with a sequel already on shelves a $20 price tag would make people a lot more willing to buy it.

Anyways, when it comes time to expand the selection the best case scenario is they include Prime Trilogy and give those of us who missed it a second chance to nab what has become very hard to find.EVnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7756333000723546217.post-70575296580527824992011-05-04T19:46:44.053-04:002011-05-04T19:46:44.053-04:00I may jump on the Twilight Princess re-release bec...I may jump on the Twilight Princess re-release because I only ever got the Gamecube version and the price for the Wii version has never dropped below $40!!!NinSagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17401288961297200305noreply@blogger.com
